2025 American Society for Public Administration National Conference Scholarship
The American Society for Public Administration (ASPA) Section for Women in Public Administration (SWPA) annually awards up to three $500.00 scholarships (Practitioner, Master’s and Ph.D.) to help defray the costs associated with attending the ASPA national conference. In addition to completing and submitting the attached SWPA Scholarship application form, applicants must also submit a cover letter, vita or resume, and one All scholarship applicants who meet the following criteria are eligible for full consideration:
Inaugural Dr. Gina Scutelnicu Todoran International Student Award:
We are also excited to introduce the inaugural Dr. Gina Scutelnicu Todoran International Student Award which provides financial support to international scholars pursuing a doctoral or graduate degree in public administration or a related discipline.
Eligibility Criteria:
Students may apply for both the student scholarship and the international student scholarship but can only be awarded one.
Nomination Process:

- Applicant must be a full-time practitioner in public service, or a student enrolled in a Master’s or Doctoral degree program in Public Administration/Public Policy/Public Affairs or a closely related field.
- Applicant must be a member of ASPA.
- Applicant must be willing to become an active member of SWPA, if not already.
- Willing to serve on the SWPA Board for one (1) year as a past scholarship awardee.

We are also excited to introduce the inaugural Dr. Gina Scutelnicu Todoran International Student Award which provides financial support to international scholars pursuing a doctoral or graduate degree in public administration or a related discipline.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be a member of ASPA.
- If not already a member of SWPA, willing to become a member of SWPA.
- International students who are studying in the U.S. (those who are on a student visa - e.g. F1 or J1 visa).
- Pursuing a graduate or doctoral degree in public administration, affairs, policy or related field.
- Willing to serve on the SWPA Board for one (1) year as a past scholarship awardee.

Nomination Process:
- Self-nominations are welcome.
- Please submit a completed nomination form through the SWPA website.
- Submit the following supporting documents as one PDF file.
- Nomination/Recommendation statement (300 words or less)
- CV/Resume
- Signed letter of nomination/recommendation from relevant faculty, supervisor/manager, or ASPA chapter or section officer.
- ASPA conference proposal acceptance (if applicable)
- Proof of enrollment in a graduate degree program (if applicable)
- Proof of international student status (I-20/DS-2019, if applicable)
- Nominations must be submitted by 11:59 pm on January 24, 2025 through the SWPA website: https://www.swpaaspa.org/nominate.html
